Alex Suri is passionate about helping his Square One clients define their voice and craft applications that enable them to secure admission to their top choice schools. His style is methodical, energized, and thorough.
With degrees in Electrical and Industrial Engineering from Princeton and a Harvard MBA, Alex is a serial entrepreneur and career veteran of the Information Technology industry. Starting his career as a software developer, then transitioning to sales & marketing roles, and eventually culminating in general management, he has led IT initiatives at over a dozen Fortune 500 companies creating in excess of $1.3B in documented cost reductions. He was a member of Cisco's original e-commerce team, where he spun out to found Intellify Inc., later sold to a Silicon Valley systems integrator. Alex was recruited back to Cisco to establish and lead the Microsoft Alliance team that organized the historic Cisco/Microsoft CEO. Alex helped Cisco master “co-opetition” for Cisco’s highest profile and most challenging strategic relationships (e.g. Microsoft, Google, Healthcare, Federal/Public Sector, etc). During his last 5 years at Cisco, Alex provided expert input on Microsoft and Software strategy for M&A transactions worth $5.5B. Alex was also part of the original management team at i2 Technologies which went on to be the world’s leader in Supply Chain solutions.
Alex continues to consult in the technology industry, but has shifted his focus from enabling companies to succeed now and in the future toward helping young people do the same. He was excited to join Square One to help others experience the joy and rush of what a top rate business education can do for their lives.
Alex resides in California with his wife and three children. When he isn’t busy helping his Square One clients, he practices yoga as he is a certified yoga instructor and Ayurveda practitioner, and ruminates on where to do his next advanced deep water dive.
