Doug Fung is passionate about helping his clients tell their personal and professional stories. He’s been cultivating this skill since 2013, when he began helping friends and colleagues reflect on experiences and prepare for job interviews, university applications, and career conversations. When Doug was at Chicago Booth getting his MBA, he trained for and became an admissions application reviewer and interviewer, both of which he still does today. Doug joined the Square One Prep team in 2017 with the goal to more holistically guide people, in particular with the business school application process because he knows candidates find it daunting and that he has the tools to lead them through it successfully.
Doug has an International MBA from Chicago Booth. As a part of his degree’s global focus, Doug spent time as an exchange student at Peking University in China and is happy to share his views on studying abroad during an MBA program. Besides an MBA, Doug has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of California, Berkeley. His mix of experiences helps him identify with and add value for clients who have non-business backgrounds.
In addition to working with Square One clients, Doug is a manager at Procter & Gamble, where he crafts stories for brands and products in product development and sales analytics roles. He is also a trained interviewer and recruiting team leader for Procter & Gamble.
Doug lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is originally from Hong Kong. He speaks Mandarin and Cantonese fluently. He also speaks Spanish and Japanese at an elementary level. In his free time, Doug loves to learn and as a result, has cultivated a growing list of hobbies including working with chocolate, molecular gastronomy, and music!
