Raven Smith

Raven enjoys advising MBA applicants because she knows that it’s a critical point in their career and life trajectories. She believes the most important part of an application is the story it tells, and therefore is a strong believer in the process of self-reflection. She encourages her clients to lean in and answer difficult questions such as “How do all your prior experiences and dreams about the future weave together to tell a story that accurately represents you, and will compel admissions committees?”

Raven is an innovator and entrepreneur with a passion for building new products and services that create meaningful impact and improve lives. She’s worked on several early stage ventures and was a Senior Consultant at Innosight, a global strategy and innovation consultancy where she advised global companies to achieve growth by making innovation more repeatable through organizational capability building, identifying and pursuing market opportunities, and designing innovative solutions. Prior to that she spent over 5 years in the financial services industry designing and delivering products for lower-income individuals in emerging markets (e.g., Mexico, Nicaragua, India, Indonesia, Jordan). She managed the development of new micro-insurance products, programs, and partnerships at several global insurers.

Raven has an MBA from Harvard Business School and an M.A. from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy where she focused on international business and development economics. She is of First Nations heritage and was born in Caribou Crossing, Yukon Territory, Canada near Alaska. A lover of the outdoors, she enjoys kayaking, skiing, and hiking. She speaks Spanish and, when not working with her Square One clients, can often be found curled up with a good book and her golden doodle, Santiago.
