Teresa Chiao

Teresa Chiao is passionate about helping others learn about themselves and then unlock their potential during the application process. She has coached many applicants through the business school admission process over the years. In addition, she has reviewed hundreds of resumes and conducted countless interviews throughout her career. She's candid, energetic, and most importantly, she is excited to help you along your admission journey to ensure you secure offers.

With a Bachelor of Business Economics from UCLA and an MBA from Wharton Business School, Teresa’s career has been varied. She was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch, where she focused on IPO and M&A initiatives for companies in the Technology, Media and Telecom sector. She led the annual analyst and summer intern training module and oversaw interviewing of prospective analysts and summer interns for the firm. Post banking, she worked for a media conglomerate on its M&A deals and internal consulting projects. She also worked for an eCommerce start up and headed their B2B strategy and marketing efforts. Most recently, Teresa cofounded a real estate development fund focusing on multi-family developments in Los Angeles.

In the last decade, Teresa has lived in ten cities – New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Shanghai, Hong Kong, London, Singapore, Taipei and Guangzhou. She is deciding which city to experience next! She is also a trained yoga teacher and has taught with Classpass, Lululemon and Sweaty Betty. She speaks Mandarin fluently and Cantonese at a conversational level. In her free time, she loves to roam around in nature, explore new cities, read non-fiction, and review investment decks (her favorite past time!)
