Eden Zeilo

Eden Zeilo has been advising friends and acquaintances through the college and graduate school process since she joined Management Leadership for Tomorrow’s (MLT) Career Prep Program in 2009, which is what led her to join the Square One Prep team. Eden is a first generation American from Eritrea (a country in East Africa), who found a meaningful way to tell her story and paved a way for herself into the Ivy League. With an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor's in Operations Research from MIT, Eden now helps her Square One Prep clients find their own voices and shape unique, resonant stories that enable them to follow in her footsteps---securing offers at Ivy League MBA programs.

Eden is the Head of Africa at a Unilever company - Sundial Brands. She manages sales, distribution, and marketing internationally in South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya. Eden relishes serving the underserved consumer in Africa and building a purpose-driven personal care brand there. Eden also has prior strategy experience at Samsung and served as an analytics consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton; her analytics and strategy background informs her coaching style at Square One; she digs deep with her clients by asking lots of questions.

Outside of work, Eden continues her commitment to serving underserved communities such as the one she grew up in; she finds it immensely rewarding to see someone achieve goals that they once were told would be impossible (something she, too, was often told!). As such, she is the Head of Operations for Black Tech Women, a community for black women who work in the technology ecosystem. She also serves as a mentor for Rising Leaders, which emphasizes leadership training for minority middle school students in New York City, where Eden resides.

When Eden isn’t busy with work, her community involvement, and her Square One clients, she enjoys traveling (30+ countries and counting), cooking (mostly Blue Apron meals), and reading fiction. Eden also speaks Tigrinya, the national language of Eritrea, fluently.
