Tarun Desai loves investing in his clients to help them gain admission to their dream schools. He engages in an immersive, introspective process with his clients, which enables them to craft authentic, compelling stories that allow their applications to truly shine. Knowing how challenging the MBA application process can be, he is a constant positive force and champion for his clients, ensuring they do not take the process, or themselves, too seriously!
Tarun earned his B.S. in Finance and Government from the College of William & Mary and his MBA from Fuqua, where he was closely involved in the admissions process as an admissions fellow, and served as President of the Media, Entertainment and Sports Club. He has worked in management consulting, private equity, and product management roles, covering industries such as financial services, technology, and media/entertainment. Just as he used his business school experience to pivot from finance to marketing roles, he enjoys working with clients to help them understand how they, too, can use their business school experience to pivot industries and functions.
Tarun has had a passion for mentorship throughout his life, and, in addition to his role as a Square One Prep advisor, serves as a professional development mentor for underprivileged adults through Streetwise Partners. He is currently a Washington DC-based management consultant, and spends his free time attending as many music festivals as possible and collecting hot sauces from all over the world.
