Alessandro Di Trapani

Hi everyone. I’m Alessandro Di Trapani – it’s a long name, so let’s just go with Ale (ah-leh), it’s what everyone calls me anyway. I was born and raised in South Africa in a large Italian family – an upbringing that gave me a deep appreciation for diversity and a passion for people. I believe that helping my clients flesh out their unique, memorable stories is the key to admissions success. As such, I love guiding my clients through an introspective process, asking deep questions to understand their choices, motivations, and life goals, not just career goals.

I am a CFA Charterholder and hold an MBA from London Business School and Bachelor of Commerce from University of the Witwatersrand. After completing my applications to business school, I founded an admissions consulting business focused on helping African students gain admission to top business schools. I was also VP of Admissions & Alumni for LBS’s Africa Club, with a mandate to assist applicants from Africa through the admissions process.

Before LBS, I spent five years working in commodity trading before swapping the Bloomberg terminal for a pick-up truck as I moved to Kenya to launch an agri-tech start-up focused on improving the sustainability and transparency of the African agricultural value chain. I founded a sustainable pet food business after LBS and hope to change pet parenthood forever.

I live in London (despite how important sunny weather is to me) and spend most of my spare time experimenting with new pasta recipes and enjoying fine South African wines.
