Kathleen Danoher

I have been investing in companies and partnerships, developing businesses internationally, and raising capital for the past 20 years. I have honed my investment judgement and also helped investors garner returns for their capital. But for the past 8 years, I have voluntarily been adding value to fellow professionals through mentorship and academic outreach programs for Harvard Business School. This led me to Square One Prep where I now guide clients through the rigorous but rewarding business school application process.

I enjoy helping people attain their goals. I coach candidates to bring out their personal best and both demonstrate and describe their leadership qualities in their applications. I rely on and translate my expertise of championing a good investment to helping candidates recognize and articulate their strengths and how they are making a difference in the world. I have worked internationally for most of my career, and have cultural sensitivity and appreciation for what can make a candidate unique from that point of view.

I am the President of the HBS Alumni Club of South Africa. I have an MBA from Harvard Business School and received a B.S. in accounting and international business from the NYU- Stern School of Business. I received scholarships and also have conducted interviews for HBS, which helps in my counsel to candidates as they build their applications, and prepare for interviews at not only HBS but all top business schools.

I am currently based in South Africa. In addition to mentoring aspiring and talented students and alumni, I enjoy horse riding and exploring the African bush with my husband and two children.
