Kathleen Danoher has been investing in companies and partnerships, developing businesses internationally, and raising capital for the past 20 years. She has honed her investment judgement and also helped investors garner returns for their capital. But for the past 8 years, Kathleen has voluntarily been adding value to fellow professionals through mentorship and academic outreach programs for Harvard Business School. This led her to Square One Prep where she now guides clients through the rigorous but rewarding business school application process.
Kathleen enjoys helping people attain their goals. She coaches candidates to bring out their personal best and both demonstrate and describe their leadership qualities in their applications. She relies on and translates her expertise of championing a good investment to helping candidates recognize and articulate their strengths and how they are making a difference in the world. As Kathleen has worked internationally for most of her career, she has cultural sensitivity and appreciation for what can make a candidate unique from that point of view.
Kathleen is the President of the HBS Alumni Club of South Africa. She has an MBA from Harvard Business School and received a B.S. in accounting and international business from the NYU- Stern School of Business. She has received scholarships and also has conducted interviews for HBS, which helps in her counsel to candidates as they prepare their applications and on-campus or phone interviews for not only HBS but all top business schools.
Kathleen is currently based in South Africa. In addition to mentoring aspiring and talented students and alumni, she enjoys horse riding and exploring the African bush with her husband and two children.
