Storytelling is required to craft compelling business school applications. It’s very hard to do well, but something I excel at helping my Square One clients do because I’ve been doing it throughout my career. Being a sponge as I ask the right questions, listen, and distill information in a way that resonates with the intended audience is vital. I’ve built compelling stories for many audiences. As an equity research associate at Macquarie, I was responsible for understanding the drivers of companies and telling the story of whether or not to invest in them. As a consultant at Bain, I managed teams and turned analysis into answers for business leaders across a range of industries. As a corporate strategy manager at Upfield, I led projects to mitigate risks and seize opportunities, communicating the benefits and challenges to our global leadership team. Now, in addition to guiding my Square One clients, as an independent consultant, I help answer clients’ strategic and operational questions by leading teams towards concrete answers.
Building stories out of research and analyses is also something I did during my time at Columbia Business School. As a fellow with the school’s Career Management Center, I collaborated with first year students to review resumes, write cover letters and prepare for interviews, translating their experiences into compelling stories that would help them secure their desired post-MBA roles.
At Columbia, I also volunteered with the Management Consulting Association, acting as a case coach and fit prep advisor for peers. Additionally, I co-founded the school’s Outdoors Club, building many lasting relationships on trails around the world. Since graduating, I have served as a volunteer admissions interviewer. Prior to Columbia, I received my BA from George Washington University.
Outside of work, I enjoy mountaineering, running, climbing, reading a book on a beach and planning all manner of adventures, outdoorsy or otherwise.
