I worked with SOP for two consecutive years and while the first attempt didn’t translate into an admit, there was a lot I learnt about myself and my career plans after having worked with Kathryn. While I didn’t work with Kathryn directly during my first attempt; in my limited interaction with her, understood the rigour and discipline that she would bring to the table. In the months leading up to my re-application / second attempt, Kathryn took the time out for me so I could simply share my thoughts and update her on the progress I was making. Not only was she helping me navigate the decision to apply to b-school a second time, she was also very honest and open about different choices I had in front of me. Kathryn in a sense was my career counsellor and this really helped me streamline my decision to re-apply to various schools. At this point in time I chose to work directly with Kathryn not just because the experience and perspective she brought to my application content but also the fact that she was involved with my career progression outside of the applications and understood what I was working towards perfectly well.

Working with Kathryn has been an absolute pleasure and I must say that she’s one the main reasons why I chose to apply to Darden. She brings to the table the perfect balance reality and optimism and definitely kept me on my toes to meet deadlines. Kathryn was there for me during crunch situations and would make the time for me anytime I’d request a call with her. We put together some really good work for the applications, especially keeping in mind the fact that my chosen career goals/ narrative is quite non-traditional. Ahead of my interview, she took the time to speak to me and share some best practices for me to keep in mind that definitely helped with my preparation and eventual success.
