I was fortunate to have had my brother go through the MBA process before I did. He highly recommended that I work with Square One Prep, as he did. It is worth mentioning that my brother and I have extremely different career backgrounds and aspired to go to very different business schools and I was quite honestly nervous I might not be qualified at all. In the end, I was accepted to BC, Texas A&M, and SMU with scholarships and had offers to interview elsewhere that I turned down. I can truly say this was made possible by my partnership with Kathryn.

Kathryn called me back personally for a very lengthy first call, allayed my concerns, and we began what turned out to be an extensive relationship. I did not end up applying the first year we began working together – and Kathryn remained in touch with detailed schedules and spreadsheets, making sure I would be ready for round 1 the following year. Kathryn is extremely present, insightful, direct, and clearly communicates what needs to be done to prepare you for both applying and attending business school in the most authentic and genuine way. When I did not attain the scores I expected, Kathryn encouraged me to continue. When I was not accepted round 1, she and Bailey worked tirelessly to find schools that would be acceptable choices for me in later rounds. Kathryn’s feedback on my school choices, resume, essay topics (including telling me what would NOT make a good story – just as valuable!) and interview prep was invaluable. Kathryn is relentless, in the best way. In what can be an extremely difficult process, Kathryn was continuously supportive and always honest. She also has a sense of humor, and levity is much needed throughout this process! Kathryn seeks to highlight the best of who you are, and why you are who you are, not merely have you lump together the sum of your scores and career highs. I believe this approach uniquely sets apart candidates who work with her and can thus present interesting stories – she is always willing to listen! I cannot recommend more highly working with SOP. I am incredibly grateful for the immense amount of time and effort Kathryn spent to prepare me for SMU this fall! Thank you!
