In August of last year, I made a last minute decision to apply for my MBA’s as I planned on quitting my job of 3 years in the face of COVID. My brother had used SOP the year before me and was accepted to his dream school. He encouraged me to have a conversation with Kathryn from SOP to discuss the process. 6 months later and dozens of conversations later I can honestly say it was the best advice he could have given me.

As soon as I finished my initial free 30 minute consultation with Kathryn, the founder, I knew I wanted to work with SOP. The MBA application process is a daunting one, especially before you’ve gotten started, but I was much more confident about taking it on after speaking with Kathryn, who immediately asked me thoughtful questions, focused on understanding my unique story, past experiences and future ambitions. She encouraged me to dive deeper and more thoughtfully into my goals, and gave me the courage to apply to my dream schools, and not settle for less because I thought some schools “were too far out of my reach”.

A short while after the first call, Kathryn sent me a detailed timeline, schedule and materials which helped me organize myself ahead of submitting 5 separate applications within a 6 week timeframe. She sent me a short list of recommended advisors who she thought would be a good fit for me. My chosen advisor ended being extremely helpful and helped me stay motivated throughout the process, even in the face of 12-16 hour workdays while juggling 5 applications. He provided constructive and thorough feedback and edits on every aspect of the application including my resume, essays and even letters of recommendation. Not only this, when I did get interviews, my advisor was more than happy to get on several calls with me to help me prepare – with some sessions focused on specific interview questions while other calls served as full-on mock interviews.

I’m happy to say that I ultimately got into one of my dream schools, and could not be more grateful for the incredible help the entire SOP team provided over the last 6+ months of the application process. SOP set me up to reach as high as I could and made sure I was ultimately successful in achieving my ambitions. I am so excited to get started in my MBA program a few months from now, and for that I have SOP to thank.
