I took my GMAT in late Aug, which left me with little time for Round 1 applications. Along with a 60h+/week job, I was running on an extremely tight schedule. CBS was my #1 B-School choice and as a candidate from an over-represented pool, it was imperative that I apply early to stand a chance. While shortlisting a consultant, the factors that I took into consideration were track record (obviously – but also preferably success stories within network), accessibility (response time not just for drafts, but also for queries) and flexibility. Square One over-achieved in all accounts. Right from the outset, Kathryn made me feel extremely comfortable and really tried to understand my story and goals, seamlessly blending objectivity with encouragement. I was also impressed by their multi-layer process which started off by choosing the consultant I resonate the most with, followed by a career narrative discussion that really pushed me to think about my journey after B School, and then kickstarting the draft essays for the shortlisted schools.
