Working with Square One Prep helped ensure I achieved my dream of getting an MBA. When I first spoke to Kathryn, I was nervous about my test scores, but she reviewed my resume in detail even before I became an official client and gave me feedback about how business schools don’t only focus on test scores, they really look at the full picture. She then continued to explain how we would work on my application to make sure I was a strong candidate for the schools I was applying to. The SOP team is also unique in that it is one of the only companies that helps craft your career narrative. It was one of the most challenging processes I experienced because you are forced to dig deep and understand why you want to go back to school and what your post-MBA career will be. But, what most people don’t realize is that if you don’t have a good career narrative to tell your story throughout your application, then it will be really tough to explain why it is imperative for you to go to business school. This is one key step in separating yourself from other applicants who don’t have that same guidance that SOP provides. My advisor was also really great! She pushed me to think about the “so what” every time I would work on an essay or my bullets for my resume. Thinking about the “so what” really shows the school that you not only know what you are doing but you understand the impact that you are making at work, through your personal activities, etc. Working with SOP enabled me to craft a perfect application that showcased my strengths and how those strengths would benefit/impact the schools I was applying to. Although I didn’t get into my dream choice, I was still accepted into 2 other great programs with some scholarships from both programs.
